Join us on November 7 at Portland’s Crowne Plaza Hotel for our gala event, Founding the Future. Honor NW Energy Coalition founders and help build our region’s clean energy future. At the gala, clean energy leaders from across the Northwest will enjoy a delicious plated dinner, drinks and great conversation. We hope to raise a glass with you that evening.

Smart Grid Northwest to host launch event and annual member meeting

Coalition member Smart Grid Northwest (formerly Smart Grid Oregon) is hosting a launch event in Portland on Thursday, July 24 featuring keynotes from Jon Wellinghoff (former FERC chairman, partner at Stoel Rives) and Elliot Mainzer (administrator & CEO, Bonneville Power Administration). Wellinghoff will share his vision for a smarter grid and energy future. Mainzer will provide insights into the region’s most pressing energy challenges and where grid advances will have the biggest impact.

4 Under Forty Honoree Bios

Four young leaders, in bringing the benefits of clean and affordable energy to all of us, will be feted at the NW Energy Coalition’s 2nd annual 4 Under Forty celebration the evening of June 12 at Seattle’s Bullitt Center. The honorees are Tara Anderson (Sustainable Works), Jessica Finn Coven (Climate Solutions), Benjamin Otto (Idaho Conservation League) and Gus Takala (Puget Sound Energy).

NW Energy Coalition to honor Seattle's first living building on June 12

For showing the tremendous potential of energy efficiency and on-site power generation in buildings, the Bullitt Foundation has earned the NW Energy Coalition’s coveted Headwaters Award. Foundation CEO Denis Hayes will accept the award during the Coalition’s 4 Under Forty event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 12, to be held – appropriately – at the Bullitt Center.

NW Energy Coalition to honor young clean energy leaders

Four young leaders in bringing the benefits of clean and affordable energy to all of us will be feted at the NW Energy Coalition’s 2nd annual 4 Under Forty celebration the evening of June 12 at Seattle’s Bullitt Center. “These individuals model the passion, diversity and expertise we will need to realize the vision of a truly clean and affordable energy future,” said NW Energy Coalition executive director Sara Patton. “They lead the way … and prove that we can get there.”

NW Energy Coalition conference to feature EPA emission standards panel

The NW Clean & Affordable Energy Conference in Helena, Mont. May 2- 3 will feature a panel on the EPA’s proposed emission standards for existing power plants. This panel will outline EPA’s authority and the guidance the agency is soliciting from states and stakeholders. Panelists will also assess the opportunities for regional coordination on clean energy strategies for meeting the emissions standards.

NWEC spring conference to feature energy efficiency panel

Please join us May 2-3 at the NW Clean & Affordable Energy Conference in Helena, Mont. One of panels at the Helena conference will address the challenges and opportunities for increasing energy efficiency in the Northwest. Energy efficiency is now the second-largest resource used to meet customer electricity needs, and meeting all new electricity needs with energy savings is within reach.
