The NW Energy Coalition welcomed clean energy advocates from around the region to its jam-packed NW Clean & Affordable Energy Conference May 30 – June 1 in Boise.

The board added to the Coalition’s growing list of member groups by unanimously accepting membership applications from Opower, the Idaho Clean Energy Association. US Green Building Council – Idaho Chapter and Sunergy Systems. These new members bring additional expertise in energy efficiency, clean energy development and building sustainability to the Coalition.

The Idaho Clean Energy Association is a nonprofit dedicated to advancing renewable energy, energy efficiency and associated technologies. ICEA advocates policies and programs promoting clean energy resources to maintain reliable, affordable energy and grow our economy. ICEA brings clean energy businesses together to network, collaborate and advocate for policies and programs that grow the clean energy industry. ICEA engages with Idaho’s policymakers to make clean energy the top priority of state energy policy and provides a voice in regulatory proceedings and in policy-making arenas.

The U.S. Green Building Council – Idaho Chapter promotes sustainable design, building, construction and operation to enhance Idaho’s quality of life. USGBC comprises a diverse group of building industry professionals, including architects, landscape designers, engineers, contractors, government officials, product manufacturers, students, developers, interior designers, building operators, appraisers and real estate agents. Its mission is to accelerate the implementation of sustainable building concepts, technologies and practices through education and advocacy work.

Sunergy Systems is a well-respected solar provider in the Seattle area, specializing in the design and installation of solar electric and solar hot water systems for both homes and businesses. Its 19 employee-owners are solar specialists who focus on customer satisfaction and installing quality solar systems. Sunergy Systems is a contractor for Seattle City Light, Puget Sound Energy and Snohomish PUD. Its portfolio includes over 600 solar energy installations including many commercial and municipal projects.
