The need for lower Snake River dam stakeholder forum

The Seattle Times has published an op-ed titled, “Restore the Snake River? Stakeholder talks are the right next step”  by Sam Mace of Coalition member Save Our wild Salmon.  Sam makes the case for state funding for a proposed lower Snake River dam stakeholder forum.  The forum would give Washington communities a voice in examining the economic and social implications of removing four lower Snake River dams in order to restore salmon populations and help save highly threatened southern resident orca whales, which are on the brink of extinction.

Please check out Sam’s op-ed and, if you are moved by the need to restore salmon, orcas, and the Snake River, please reach out to your Washington legislators who are right now negotiating whether funding for the stakeholder forum will be included in the new state budget.
