Bonneville Power Administration’s own analysis and many other studies commissioned by regional utilities and public interest groups show this choice is likely to result in higher power costs, less reliability, and more difficulty integrating clean energy. Because BPA provides a large majority of the Northwest’s transmission and sells power to all utilities in our region, every power customer in the Northwest is at risk for higher costs on their monthly bills.

“In the coming weeks, we will further analyze this proposal and work to align BPA’s final decision with the best interest of all regional stakeholders,” said Nancy Hirsh, NW Energy Coalition Executive Director. “While we disagree with this proposed decision, we continue to support BPA’s employees’ essential work to manage the power and resources entrusted to them by the American people, to protect our fish, wildlife and natural resources, and to keep the lights on.”
