Spring conference to feature panel on the needs and costs for new transmission
Featured panel:
Assessing the needs and costs for new transmission
Boardman to Hemingway and Gateway West are two high-voltage transmission lines currently slated for construction in Idaho with the aim of improving reliability, handling a higher load and incorporating additional renewable energy sources. Opponents question whether the lines are needed and if the costs are justifiable. This panel will address regional and Idaho-specific needs and opportunity costs associated with the construction of these two transmission lines.
Other panels will address integrating the next wave of renewables, the next regional power plan and a salmon-friendlier power system.
