Protect and advance our clean energy law

 

Our voter-approved Clean Energy Initiative, I-937, is under attack again in the Washington State Legislature and needs your help!

I-937 is the state’s number one tool for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. According to Gov. Inslee’s climate workgroup report, fully implementing I-937 will meet a quarter of the 2020 emissions reduction targets already mandated by state law. This is hardly the time to make piecemeal changes that weaken our state’s most effective climate measure.

Any proposed changes to I-937 should maintain the integrity of the law and be part of a comprehensive evaluation. Unfortunately, some bills in the Legislature, mostly in the Senate, would undermine I-937’s advances toward our state’s clean energy future.

Take action! Contact your senators and representatives and tell them to oppose changes to I-937 this session.

Gov. Jay Inslee is working hard to make Washington the greenest state in the nation and our Clean Energy Initiative is the best law we now have to make that happen. It is bringing us cleaner air, better health, good local jobs and billions of dollars in investments. Tell your legislators they must work to strengthen I-937 for all of us.
