San Francisco to finance energy efficiency upgrades; Washington state to follow?

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom signed legislation Monday that would create a special tax district to finance energy efficiency, renewable energy and water conservation improvements. This new program is similar to the Energy Efficiency Financing Act that is currently working it’s way through the Washington State Legislature.

Grow Green Idaho Jobs Act is first energy bill of the legislative session

The first energy-related bill of the 2010 legislative session was introduced in the Senate, but S1273 may have a tough ride unless it can pick up some majority support. The “Grow Green Idaho Jobs Act” is designed to expedite permitting of renewable energy projects being reviewed by state or local government agencies and to “ensure stakeholder participation in the evaluation of projects.”
